The Fawcett Society is a UK-based charity campaigning for gender equality and women’s rights.

The Fawcett Society dates back to 1866, when Millicent Fawcett dedicated her life to women’s suffrage. The society campaigns for equal pay, tackles gender stereotypes, defends women’s rights during the Covid-19 pandemic and more. It also offers an Equal Pay advice service to support women who are being paid unequally.

How You Can Help

Time: Various

Find and join a local Fawcett group working to advance gender equality in your area. If there isn’t a group near you, you can get in touch with the society to start a new branch.

You can also get involved with active Fawcett Society campaigns, such as by writing to your local MP on feminist issues.

Cost: Various

Make a single or regular donation to the Fawcett Society, browse their online shop or give while you shop on other platforms, or explore fundraising opportunities.

You can also become a member of the Fawcett society, receiving perks such as weekly and monthly bulletins, stories, an annual magazine and discounts/priority booking on Fawcett events.

Standard membership begins at £8/month or from £88/year, and there are also family and concessionary rates. You can also gift membership to others.
