A non-profit organisation, Trans Lifeline is a peer support and crisis hotline for transgender, non-binary and gender nonconforming people in the USA and Canada.

Run by and for trans, gender nonconforming and non-binary people, Trans Lifeline offers emotional and financial support to those in crisis. Trans Lifeline provides a hotline for trans people in English and Spanish, as well as a Family & Friends Line for cis supporters seeking advice.

How You Can Help

Time: Various and flexible

Trans Lifeline has a wide range of volunteering opportunities available, on their hotlines and also in other areas such as admin, design and technology.

Some volunteering roles are exclusively for trans, gender nonconforming and non-binary people (such as the primary crisis hotlines), however there are also roles available for cis supporters.

Hotline operators sign up for specific shifts and must be available for at least one two-hour shift per week. Volunteers are asked to commit for at least 3 months as Hotline operators, Microgrants, or admin volunteers. Volunteers can also commit to working on one project in design, data management, or technology.
