HARP is the leading Southend-on-Sea charity helping local people overcome homelessness for good.
HARP provides essential services and long-term solutions to support local people taking steps to overcome homelessness. On average, HARP helps over 1,000 people in the greater Southend area, who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness every year, and currently provide housing for up to 214 people.
How You Can Help
Time: Various, typically at least a few hours per week
HARP offer a number of volunteering roles, such as assisting in their shops, preparing and serving breakfast or lunch at their Bradbury Day Centre in York Road, Southend, or supporting HARP residents at one of their hostels.

Cost: Various
Make a donation of your choice to HARP, either with a regular or one-off gift. You can also donate in memory, or donate good quality furniture which HARP will collect. You can also visit their charity shops in the Southend area.
Alternatively, you can fundraise for HARP, with any activity of your choice, by running or taking part in one of their featured events such as the Captain Tom 100 Challenge.
You can also play their weekly smile lottery at a cost of £1 per play, where you can win up to £25,000 in the rollover draw.
