Tyred is a campaign aiming to prevent deaths on UK roads caused by old tyres.
Tyred was established following the deaths of several people in a 2012 road accident, caused by a coach which had 20-year-old tyres. Tyred is now working to change UK law to prohibit the presence of tyres older than 10 years on coaches and minibuses.
How You Can Help
Time: A few minutes – an hour
Register on the group’s website to support Tyred’s campaign to change the law and receive updates on their progress.
You can also follow Tyred on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) and share their posts to raise awareness of the Tyred campaign, or add an ‘I support Tyred’ to your profile picture.
If you run a business or website and want to help raise awareness of the detrimental effect of old tyres then you can download Tyred’s supporter asset pack full of badges, banners, logos and GIFs.
You can also write to your local councillor using key points provided on the Tyred website, asking them to raise a motion to bring the issue of old tyres directly to the Government, and also make changes locally.
