Southall Black Sisters is a nonprofit providing information, advocacy and support to Black women in Southall, West London.
Established in 1979, Southall Black Sisters aims to highlight and challenge domestic and gender-related violence against Black women. It runs an advice, resource and advocacy centre in Southall, as well as a counselling service, offering help with issues including forced marriage, what to do in an emergency, abusive relationships, immigration and child abduction. It also offers advice online. Southall Black Sisters offers its resources in multiple community languages, especially South Asian languages, and campaigns on issues including forced marriage, religious fundamentalism and immigration. While the organisation focuses on Black and minority women, it will not turn away any women who need emergency help.
