Size of Wales is a Welsh charity working to protect tropical forests, and raise awareness of their importance through education.
Founded in 2010, Size of Wales initially aimed to help protect 2 million hectares of forest, roughly the equivalent of ‘the size of Wales’ (a phrase often used when discussing the impact of climate change or deforestation). Now the organisation works with schools, businesses and governments to educate them on issues impacting rainforests. It also supports rainforest conservation projects to reduce deforestation and protect rainforests and indigenous communities.
