Akt is a UK charity supporting young LGBTQ+ people who live in hostile environments, face the risk of homelessness or are currently experiencing homelessness.

Established in 1989 as the Albert Kennedy Trust (now Akt) provides emergency accommodation and support, support from mentors, life skills training, peer support and more for LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25.

How You Can Help

Time: Various | affected by Covid-19

If you are based in the UK, you can give your time through Akt’s volunteering programme. However, the programme has been temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Akt plan to relaunch volunteering activities later in 2021.

To register your interest in volunteering in the future, you can fill out this short expression of interest form, outlining your location and skills/experience, and Akt will be in touch once activities restart.

Cost: Various

Make a donation of your choice to Akt, either one-off or on a regular basis, with the option to add Gift Aid. Akt also offer advice on how to fundraise through activities such as livestreaming, baking, quizzes or other events.
