Founded in 1909, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is an American civil rights organisation.

The NAACP is a volunteer-led organisation that works to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

How You Can Help

The NAACP Take Action page allows you to filter actions by how long they take, including petitions that can be signed in 2 minutes. There are also surveys posted by the NAACP which you can participated in.

If you are a member of the NAACP (see below) you can organise marches, rallies and direct action campaigns for the organisation, and also participate in voter registration campaigns and national/regional events and conferences all around the US.

Donate to the NAACP here, either as a one-off gift or on a recurring basis. You can also browse the NAACP online shop.  

You can also become a member of the NAACP, with options for annual renewal or lifetime membership. Regular annual membership for those over the age of 21 costs $30 dollars, dropping down to $15 and $10 for those 20 or younger.
